My Documents and My Desktop

Sometimes called the Prism Share, this network folder is provided by OIT for storage of Students’ personal documents.The College of Architecture redirects your My Documents and My Desktop folders to this area on OIT’s network. All files stored on the desktop or in your My Documents are here.

The space available is limited as follows:

Soft Quota: 512MB After using a total of 512MB of space, you’ll start receiving e-mails from OIT that you have reached your quota and to delete or move files.

Hard Quota: 1GB You will not be able to go over the 1GB Hard Quota. When saving a large file it will not even inform you that you have run out of disk space. BE VERY CAREFUL!

At login to a CoA computer, the Prism Share is automatically mapped to the Y: drive.

TIP:To find out your free space on a network folder, open an Explorer window showing the contents of the drive, right click in the open area and select Properties.
