One of the main Resources available to CoA Students is the file storage space on our network. There are a number of spaces available for different uses.

Home Directories

Home Directories are an additional storage area on the network provided by Coa-IT where you can store your data. When you log in this area is “mapped” to your H: drive in My Computer. Graduate students and under-graduate students storage areas are in different places on the network, as noted in the links above. At login to a CoA computer, your Home Directory is automatically mapped to the H: drive As on the Prism Share your home directory has size limit.

Hard Quota: undergrads - 2GB. Grads - 3GB.

Requests for additional disk space may be sent to helpdesk@coa.gatech.edu for evaluation.

Please note: If your major is not under the College of Architecture, you will not have a Home Directory on our network.

Course Folders

Course folders are a network location in which instructors may share files and data with students. There is also a Work Area Folder within each course folder where students may submit files to their instructors or share files for Group projects.

Research Folders

link: \\gtcoa.coa.ad.gatech.edu\research

The Research Folder contains sub folders for many Research projects. Access to students may be granted upon request by the head of the Research Project.

Public Folder

link: \\gtcoa.coa.ad.gatech.edu\Public

The Public folder is a shared location on the network where anyone can share data for anyone to read. The Public folder should be used only for transferring files between users.

Files in this folder may be DELETED AT ANY TIME!!!
