The speakers  will lay out the economic, political, technological and cultural context of Florence at the beginning of the fifteenth century, speak to the design and construction of the Duomo in general and the cupola in particular, and  discuss the contributions of events in Florence in relationship to later architectural production in Italy specifically, and to Western civilization, generally.  At the end of the day, we will bring the discussion around to present day issues of Architecture/Engineering/Construction (AEC) Integration during a panel discussion in which we would like for you to participate.
