Although digital technology has drastically changed nearly every aspect of our lives, the architectural and building industries have not yet given up some traditional practices like hand labor and drafted drawings. With positive implications ranging from improving sustainability and safety to significant savings in time and money, building information modeling (BIM) is not just another tool for architects and builders. In fact, many leaders and early adopters believe it is the future of the industry. Join us in this critical exploration of key issues surrounding BIM from the perspective of architects, owners, engineers, and contractors.
This symposium has been organized to celebrate the publication of the BIM Handbook written by Chuck Eastman, Paul Teicholz, Rafael Sacks, and Kathleen Liston.
AIA Credits and Certified Professional Home Builder education credits will be available.
The BIM Handbook will be available for purchase at the symposium from the Georgia Tech Barnes & Noble Bookstore on the day of the event.
