COA1060: Introduction to Design and the Built Environment

COURSE OVERVIEW

COA 1060 is a lecture class that meets for three one-hour sessions each week, and is required of all undergraduate students entering the College of Architecture.  

The course:

  • Fosters a critical curiosity about the designed and built environment
  • Provides an introduction to the disciplines of architecture, building construction, and industrial design.
  • Provides an introduction to the schools, research centers, and resources of the College of Architecture
  • Assists students in the development of fundamental learning strategies, and career development skills, related to the built environment
