Architecture Students

American Institute of Architecture Students (AIAS) is a national organization of architecture students promoting excellence in architectural education and practice as well as community awareness and participation. The Georgia Tech chapter of AIAS is very active in the organization of seminars, tours, and special events enhancing student life in the Architecture Program.

Architecture Program Student Advisory Council (SAC) is the representative body of undergraduate and graduate students within the Architecture Program. Representatives, who are elected by year-level in each program, meet regularly with program administrators to discuss issues of concern and to participate in an ongoing dialog with the faculty. SAC members serve on various Architecture Program committees and participate in the graduate admissions process.

National Organization of Minority Architecture Students (NOMAS) - Georgia Tech's NOMAS chapter is active at the local level in fostering opportunities for minority architecture students. Officers of this organization also attend the annual meetings of NOMA, the group's parent organization.

Building Construction Students

Student Construction Association - an active campus organization made up of students interested in the construction industry. Activities include an annual Career Fair, regular meetings with industry leaders, and construction related philanthropic projects. SCA is a student branch of the Associated General Contractors of America (AGC) and the Mechanical Contractors Association. The International Facility Management Association (IFMA) is closely tied to the graduate Integrated Facility and Property Management program at Georgia Tech.  The local Atlanta Chapter provides scholarships and grants to the program and students are encouraged to attend professional meetings of the association for networking and educational information.  Please see IFMA Atlanta's website at www.ifmaatlanta.org opens in new window for additional information and meeting times/locations.

Design Build Institute of America Student Chapter has members interested in the design-build project delivery system and other alternative project delivery systems. Members meet throughout the year with industry leaders to learn about design-build projects and the application of design-build techniques within the construction industry. Industrial Design

Industrial Designers Society of America (IDSA) - The Industrial Design Program is home to over 80 student members of IDSA who engage in monthly meetings, activities, events. The students attend the yearly regional IDSA conference where the student merit awards are presented. To join the student IDSA group, contact the ID Program office at 404.894.4874 and you will be put in touch with an IDSA student representative.
