Open to women students, staff, faculty and community members
Atlanta (October 19, 2009) — The Georgia Tech Music Department has formed a Women’s Chorus open to undergraduates, graduates, staff, faculty and even community members. The ensemble presently rehearses on Monday evenings in the former Navy ROTC building. No previous choral experience is necessary and no audition is required.
The Women’s Chorus joins the two mixed choruses (Chorale and Chamber Choir) and the all-male GT Glee Club.
Currently the Women’s Chorus is extra-curricular, and is in the process of applying for Student Government Association club status. Plans are for the ensemble to become a curricular offering within the Music Department. The group is under the direction of Dr. Melissa Arasi, Supervisor of Performing Arts for Cobb County Schools.
