Centennial Lecture Series Presents Prominent African American Duo Oct. 15

Stanley, Love-Stanley photoHusband and wife architecture alums William J. Stanley III (Arch 1972) and Ivenue Love-Stanley (Arch 1977) broke new ground for African American architects in the South. Notable works include Horizon Sanctuary of the historic Ebenezer Baptist Church and the Aquatic arena used in the 1996 Olympic Games.

1950s

George T. Heery, Sr., (Arch 1951), Chairman and CEO of the Brookwood Group in Atlanta, has been inducted into the Buckhead Coalition.

 

1970s
D. Scott Jones (Arch 1978) has returned to Georgia Tech as director of design and construction in Facilities.
Robin L. Reinhardt (BC 1979), of Cumberland, RI, was promoted to director of A&E services for CVS/Caremark in November.

 

1980s

Kenn Gardner (Arch 1980, M Arch 1983), commissioner for Wake County, NC, has been selected as the National Urban Elected Official of the Year by the National Association of Counties.

Richard Kramer (Arch 1980, M Arch 1982) has been promoted to senior associate and stockholder with Pieper O’Brien Herr Architects.
Emilio Lebolo, III (Arch 1985; M Arch 1988) became Principal & Vice President of Gallo Architects & Development Consultants, Inc. (soon to be known as GALLO-HERBERT-LEBOLO), of Deerfield Beach, FL.

Allen Lee (Arch 1988; M Arch 1997) began practice as an emergency room physician in June. 

 

1990s

Doylelaleana Welborn Foister (BC 1993) and Ron Foister (BC 1993) opened Ron Foister Custon Momes, LLC in March 2006. 

Steve Diamond, (ID 1999) of Hillsboro, OR, has been promoted to senior design manager of Nike Equipment at Nike Inc.

 

2000s

Kahlillah Dotson Mosley (M Arch 2004) of Atlanta had her work displayed in “2% - Women of Color in Design,” an exhibit hosted by the Boston Architectural College at the American Institute of Architects’ national convention in May. 

Alfredo Aponte (ID 2007), Brandon Swafford (ID 2007), Clint Zeagler (ID 2004), Mike Fischetti (ID 2003) and Daniel Barbalho (ID 2003) were selected for the Georgia Tech Alumni Association’s “30 Under 30” highlighting significant success among young alumni.
