You are invited to participate in one of the finest instrumental ensembles here at Georgia Tech: The Concert Band. Under the direction of Donny Allen, the Concert Band is a group of seventy to eighty outstanding woodwind, brass and percussion performers performing the finest in band repertoire. The Concert Band gives two on-campus concerts during the academic year, as well as performance opportunities during the summer session.

Whatever your band instrument, whatever your major here at Tech, we have a place for you. Our members pride themselves on the "family" atmosphere they create, which helps make our major research institute campus seem a whole lot friendlier. This diverse group of students, one of the largest student performance organizations on the campus, represents a wide variety of majors from many schools in the Institute. Students of all ability levels from many different backgrounds participate in the band and membership is open to all qualified students enrolled in the Institute.

Academic excellence is important in the Concert Band and we understand the time constraints of full-time college students. With that in mind, we have rehearsals twice each week: In the Fall on Tuesday and Thursday and in the Spring on Monday and Wednesday 4:35 - 5:55 PM. We have found that that few academic classes conflict with this time slot. Humanities credit is awarded for participation in Concert Band.
