Advanced Modeling and Animation in Architecture

The intention of this course is to introduce students to advanced 3D computer visualization and animation. Students learn advanced animation techniques on the example of Autodesk VIZ 2006 and 3DS MAX 7 from Autodesk/Discreet.

Particle systems, procedural materials, plug-ins, photometric lights and radiosity, network rendering, advanced animation techniques, special effects are introduced in a series of exerciese. Students get an exposure to complex scene composition using Video Post in 3DS MAX, and learn video editing principles on an example of Media Studio and Premiere 6.5. Video composition and special video effects are introduced using Adobe AfterEffects software. There are typically four presentations by invited speakers and one visit to a local video production studio.
