Visiting Instructor, Industrial Design Program, Georgia Tech
John Leffler is a 1993 Georgia Tech mechanical engineering graduate and a licensed Professional Engineer in several states. He is a Forensic Mechanical Engineer for FORCON International, involving expert witness work in analyzing product and vehicle failures, workplace accidents, and child passenger safety. Prior to working in forensics, ten years of product design engineering experience at Motorola, Herman Miller, Firearms Training Systems, and Panasonic culminated with John’s own firm designing a line of power tools for Sears. Before becoming an engineer, John spent eight years as a racecar mechanic and fabricator, including several years on the 1986 Indy 500-winning team. He holds a patent and is a former Atlanta IDSA officer.
