James Spencer, Academic Advisor in the Architecture Program, presented at the annual Best Practices Event of the Georgia Tech Academic Advisors’ Network (GTAAN), held on June 18 in the College of Management. Spencer’s presentation, When Students are Out of the House: Effective Advising in Programs Abroad, detailed successful academic counseling practices for international programs, using as a model the Architecture Program’s senior-year experience at L’Ecole Nationale Supérieure d’Architecture de Paris-la Villette. The event drew over 100 participants from 19 colleges and universities from around Georgia and the southeast, and provided a venue to share the most effective academic advising practices in the region.
