City and Regional Planning Program

Letter from the Director

Dear Prospective Student,

Thank you for inquiring about the Graduate City and Regional Planning Program here at Georgia Tech. We process completed applications for Fall 2007 Matriculation between January and May 2007.  We normally reach our applicant limit in late April; therefore it is to your advantage to submit your file as early as possible.

In most cases the official GRE score report is the missing piece that keeps a file from being reviewed.  Be sure to use Institute Code 5248 for Georgia Institute of Technology and Department Code 4402 for City and Regional Planning to assure that the score report arrives in this office quickly.  For purposes of processing your file we will use an unofficial score and hold the decision letter until the official score report is received.

International Students are required to have all of the above plus:

  1. Official Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) score report indicating a score of 600 or higher.

  2. Financial statement certified by a bank officer showing support in the amount of $33,112 for the first year of study for an individual student with no dependents.  This figure will change slightly after the Georgia Board of Regents determine the new tuition rates at the end of April.

Your completed application will be processed and a decision returned to you in most cases within 4 weeks.

Good luck as we go through this process.  You may contact my assistant, Dot Matthews, at 404-894-2352 for further information.

Sincerely,

Cheryl K. Contant
Professor and Director
