Regents Opportunity Scholarship
The
intent of this program is to increase the enrollment of historically
disadvantaged and under-represented students in graduate and professional
programs offered by institutions in the University System of Georgia.
To be eligible to receive funds under this program, the recipient
must be a Georgia resident,
have a minority classification, and be a full-time student in good
standing. The scholarship is renewable
for up to three years and is based on financial need and academic
performance. Support is generally
set at $5,000 per academic year. Priority is given to prior
recipients who continue to meet eligibility
criteria. As with tuition waivers, nominations are forwarded
to the Associate Vice President for Graduate
Studies and Research from from the Program Director. Regents
Opportunity Scholarship nominations are solicited by the Office
of Graduate Studies and Research in early March and decided by June
for the following academic year.
