City and Regional Planning Program

Financial Aid Information

Financial Aid

The Program offers a variety of financial aid opportunities to its students. Because of the ongoing academic and research activities, a good number of research assistantships and scholarships are available. The City and Regional Planning Program offers research assistantships for the first academic year to approximately 30% of  incoming planning students. In addition, in any given semester a total of approximately fifty-five students are supported in various ways:   by other units at Tech, sponsored research projects, teaching assistants or GRA/Co-Ops.  All GRA s, GA s and GTA s have their tuition waived and pay only fees. They  receive a stipend of just over $550 per month.  Most are established on a semester basis. While they often continue through the academic year, there are no guarantees beyond each semester.

Minority students who are Georgia residents are eligible to participate in the Regents Opportunity Scholarship Program. Minority students are also eligible for the American Planning Association Minority Fellowship Program. Additional information on the Regents Opportunity Scholarship may be obtained from the Institutes Graduate Studies and Research Office. Information concerning the American Planning Association Minority Fellowship may be obtained from the American Planning Association office in Chicago.
