Participation in class means having read assigned materials and come to class prepared for disc us sion questions and delivery of completed assignments on time. Late assignments will be penalized one letter grade per week. DO NOT submit written assignments via email.
The class will be sub-divided into 8 teams of approximately five students each. The students in each group will prepare a single research paper and make a group presentation during class. Research papers are a minimum of 25 and a maximum of 30 pages, single spaced, using 12 pt. Arial font, 1" margins. A list of suggested topics from which to choose will be distributed on the first day of class. S tudents will have two weeks to select a topic and present a 2 page written research proposal to the Instructor. The proposal will describe the group's approach to the topic and the manner in which the group has equitably distributed the work among the members. On the day that the group's research papers are due the group will make a 45-minute oral presentation (with full group presentation) of their topic to the class on the date listed in the syllabus.
