Georgia Tech’s City and Regional Planning Program to Celebrate 50th Anniversary

April 11-12, 2003 – Atlanta, Georgia

Schedule of Events > Friday Morning

  • Friday morning: Campus Tours
    9:00 - 11:30 a.m. > College of Architecture Atrium

  • Friday morning: Poster Sessions & Student Presentations
    9:00 - 11:30 a.m. > College of Architecture Atrium

We will begin our two-day celebration at Georgia Tech’s College of Architecture’s atrium to view displays of current student work.  During this same time period, we will be conducting walking tours of the campus.

Student Work:  Our current students will be showcasing their course work through posters and PowerPoint presentations.  Relax and grab a cup of coffee and a sweet roll and listen to a sampling of some of the exciting work our current students are doing in their courses and in the community.

Campus Tours:  Beginning with an overview of the campus master plan, we will then venture out to view some of the new construction on campus and the nostalgic sites associated with the City and Regional Planning Program.  We will visit the Student Center, the new technology available in the Library, former Program locations, and the current College facilities.  We will also “cross the Connector” and tour portions of the new Technology Square development by Georgia Tech in Midtown.

Participants will then make their way (by car, transit, or foot) to the site of our 50th Anniversary Forum at the Sheraton Colony Square Hotel, 188 14th Street Northeast, Atlanta, Georgia.  For directions to the Sheraton Colony Square Hotel in Midtown Atlanta visit: www.sheraton.com/colonysquare.  Current hotel parking charges are $16.00 per day for self-parking, $18.00 per day for valet.  Please note that all rates quoted are subject to change.
