Increased vehicle travel in and around metropolitan areas significantly contributes to the decline of air quality. CGIS researchers are developing computer models that predict the air quality impact and provide guidance for developing appropriate mitigation strategies.
The Mobile Emission Assessment System for Urban and Regional Evaluation (MEASURE) model development is funded by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.
