The Center for Geographic Information Systems (CGIS) at Georgia Tech is an interdisciplinary research center focused on applications, education, and providing cutting-edge innovative solutions to diverse real world problems. CGIS professionals encompass a wide variety of academic disciplines and broader GIS experience. To support its mission, CGIS provides state-of-the-art technology and facilities. MISSION STATEMENT
To research and develop the next generation of geo-spatial technologies;
To apply GIS tools and technologies to a variety of research and industry problems;
To provide GIS education for students, researchers, and professionals from a variety of disciplines; and
To enhance and disseminate digital spatial databases for the State of Georgia and other sponsors.
