Summer Study Abroad in Paris

Paris, France (January 28, 2009) — The Georgia Tech Building Construction Program will host a Summer tudy Abroad Program in Paris, France May 11 to July 30, 2009.

The Summer Program in Paris is designed to introduce students to the international construction industry, provide first-hand experience with global partnerships, while developing a greater appreciation for international practices, culture and technology. During the semester-long program, students tour international construction sites and visit with leading global architectural firms, construction companies and research entities.

Participating students will earn 12 credit hours of undergraduate courses in the Building Construction Program. Courses offered include: Laboratory for Sustainable Design & Construction (BC 4650); Construction Industry Issues & Initiatives (BC 4670); Entrepreneurship (BC 4660); and Construction Marketing (BC 4640). Classes are held from Monday to Thursday, allowing students to spend Friday through Sunday traveling Europe.

Students are housed on the Cite Universitaire campus in the southern part of Paris. The dorm-style accomodations will vary, but typically are single rooms with a shared bathroom in the hall.

Cost to attend is $5,000. This program fee does not include airfare, meals, or local transportation.

Space is limited. To secure your spot and housing priority, a $500 non-refundable deposit and application is due February 15, 2009.
