Chuck Thomsen to speak March 11

Lecture open to focus on Construction Program Management

The School of Building Construction and College of Architecture will host Chuck Thomsen March 11 at 6PM Mr. Thomsen, Chairman of the Rice Building Institute and a member of the board of MOCA, Inc. and of FMI, Inc., will speak on “Program Management: A New Construction Profession.” The event will be held at the Academy of Medicine at Georgia Tech. The lecture is free and open to the public.

BC Graduate Student’s Company Named EarthCraft’s Renovator of the Year

Frank Wickstead’s company WicksteadWorks wins prestigious honor

BC residential track graduate student Frank Wickstead’s company WicksteadWorks was named 2010 Renovator of the Year by Southface and The Greater Atlanta Home Builders Association (GAHBA). WicksteadWorks was honored during an award ceremony held January 29 at Philips Arena’s Horizon Club. It is the second straight year the Atlanta-based remodeler has earned this honor. The Renovator of the Year award recognizes an EarthCraft House renovator that has gone above and beyond established measures to decrease energy consumption in an existing home.

The School of Building Construction announces upcoming deadlines for admission in the Fall 2010 semester. The deadline for applications for enrollment in Fall 2010 is June 1 for U.S. applicants; international applications are due March 15. The School of BC now offers a Master’s Degree in three distinct tracks.
