Spitfire

Designer: David Gransewicz

Spring 2007

Photography: Alan Harp

Developed in the spirit of the WWII Spitfire airplane, this standing height desk features several historical references in its design. The quartersawn red oak wing shaped desk surface was CNC machined to provide a comfortable leading edge on which to work. The bottom of the desk top is cloaked in riveted copper sheeting while the legs are made from military surplus rifle shells that have been copper plated to match the desk base.
