Dowel Table
Designer: Martha Knoespel
Spring 2008
Photography: Alan Harp
Highlighting the end grain of wood, this two tiered dowel table is constructed from 176 dowels of walnut, cherry and birch. With dowels ranging in size from 1/8" to 1" in diameter, the surfaces are nearly filled. The gaps between the dowels are filled with a transparent epoxy resin. When viewed from above, light can be seen through the resin creating an interesting visual effect.
