The laboratory provides training in computer-aided manufacturing and in the operation and maintenance of wood processing machinery. Training is available to individuals in the wood products manufacturing industry and those outside the industry who wish to become employed in the wood products manufacturing field. Also of note, the AWPL’s training programs and facility can accommodate people with disabilities.

• Continuing education programs for executives in the secondary wood products industry that will focus on the strategic, marketing, economic and management elements involved in the utilization of high tech, highly flexible production methods.

• All AWPL courses qualify for Continuing Education Units (CEUs) credit at the rate of 10 hours class time = 1.0 CEUs. See individual course listings for credit allowed for specific courses.

• "Life-skills" training conducted by the staff of the Center for Assistive Technology and Environmental Access (CATEA).
