Undergraduate Awards

The Architecture Program annually conducts a number of competitions for awards and scholarships. The awards are made on the basis of academic achievement and design studio performance in the Architecture Program.

A partial list of these awards includes:

Freshman Book Awards
In recognition of outstanding performance in freshman studio courses.
Sophomore Book Awards
In recognition of superior performance in second year design studios.
Gwinner Student Leadership Fellowship
Awarded annually to the president of the AIAS.
Mike Rice Award
Presented annually to the freshman with the highest grade point average.
Vernon McCoy Shipley, Jr. & William J. Shipley Memorial Award
Presented annually to three juniors who will be participating in the Paris Program as seniors.
Frank Beckum Memorial Scholarship
A merit award presented annually to a junior who will be participating in the Paris Program as a senior on the basis of need and academic and professional promise.
Robert Daniel Betzel, Jr. Memorial Scholarship
A merit award presented to a junior who will be participating in the Paris Program as a senior on the basis of need and academic and professional promise.
James Bowden Addy Scholarship
A merit award presented to two undergraduate students participating in the Paris Program.
Velux Competition Awards
Awarded annually by means of an externally juried competition conducted in third year undergraduate studios.
Lewis Lanter Memorial Award
Presented in recognition of consistently excellent performance throughout the senior year design studio sequence.
Diane Gauspohl Memorial Scholarship
A merit award presented to a Junior who will be participating in the Paris Program on the basis of exceptional academic performance, professional promise, and financial need.
Albert Lee Hawes Memorial Scholarship
Awarded to an undergraduate student who will be participating in the Paris Program.
Alan Salzman Memorial Scholarship
Awarded to an undergraduate student who will be participating in the Paris Program.
Franco-American Studio Prize
Awarded for the best project in the Paris Program Franco-American Winter/Spring Studio.
Atlanta CSI Foundation Scholarship
Awarded to a joint-degree student in Architecture and Building Construction, undergraduate or advanced-degree program, on the basis of academic performance and financial need.
Marthame Sanders Memorial Scholarship
A merit award presented to a College of Architecture student based on need and academic achievement.
John Judson Roland Fellowship
Awarded to an undergraduate student in the College to continue studies in the graduate program. Based on general excellence in architecture, with an emphasis on design.
Stanley, Love-Stanley Architecture, PC Awards
Awarded to one undergraduate and one graduate student of African-American descent who have shown consistent diligence, progress, and improvement in their architectural studies.
Andrew Jarrett Memorial Scholarship
Awarded to a undergraduate student who will be participating in the Paris Program and who has demonstrated both an exemplary academic record and financial need.
