James Spencer, who joined the College of Architecture January 2005, serves as academic advisor to undergraduate and graduate architecture students. He is the recipient of the 2007 Staff Achievement Award in the College of Architecture. Spencer is a summa cum laude graduate of Georgia State University, where he received the Phi Beta Kappa Faculty Scholarship Award and worked as an academic advisor, administrative manager and learning coordinator. He is a member of the National Academic Advising Association (NACADA), for which he has presented at national and national conferences, the Georgia Tech Academic Advising Network (GTAAN), Phi Kappa Phi, Mortar Board, Blue Key, and Golden Key Honor Societies, and is a Georgia Tech staff member of Omicron Delta Kappa National Leadership Honor Society. He has been published recently in the The Mentor: An Academic Advising Journal, published by Pennsylvania State University’s Center for Excellence in Academic Advising. .
