Matthew Swarts is a Research Scientist I in the College of Architecture's Interactive Media Architecture Group in Education (IMAGINE) Lab where he develops processes for the facilitation of creating large scale urban virtual environments. He has more than 8 years of 3D modeling and visualization experience ranging from photorealistic stills and classical animations to real-time analysis and video game development.

Matthew's research is directed towards the modeling and simulation of architectural space. His interests include measurable aesthetics, algorithmic architecture, augmented reality, and real-time graphics.

He earned his Bachelor of Science in Architecture from Georgia Tech while working as a research assistant in the IMAGINE Lab. He also attended Yonsei University in Seoul, South Korea. He is currently enrolled in the Design Computing PhD Program at Georgia Tech.
