Master of Science Program

The Master of Science [M.S.] Program focuses on advanced architectural studies in a range of specialty areas. The program is oriented toward advanced practice, scholarship and research. Applicants may have previous degrees in architecture and/or other related fields, depending on the specific M.S. area of specialized study. The program accepts students with a professional degree in a design and/or design-related field, and in some cases, students with a baccalaureate degree in a non-design field, depending on the specific M.S. area of specialized study.

The areas of specialized study include:

Students admitted to the M.S. Program are assigned a Faculty Advisor who works with them to help develop an appropriate course schedule specific to their area of specialized study. In general, the M.S. Programs can be completed in one or two academic years depending upon the student's background, area of specialized study, and the decision to complete a Thesis. The M.S. Program requires a minimum of 30 semester hours of course work. If the thesis is pursued, it is anticipated that the student's coursework will exceed the 30 semester-hour minimum and that the duration of the program will extend beyond one academic year.
