The following prizes are offered by the Architecture Program to students whose achievements have been outstanding during their tenure in graduate studies at Georgia Tech. These awards are only for students already in the Program.
The SGF-IR Prize, with awards of $6,000, $1,000 and $500, is generously provided by the Southern GF Company of Atlanta and Ingersoll Rand. The award is determined by an invited jury of nationally prominent architects and critics and architectural educators. Students in the M.Arch.I and M.Arch. II programs are eligible.
The medal is awarded annually by the Alpha Rho Chi honorary fraternity to the graduating student from the M.Arch.I program who has demonstrated an outstanding record of leadership and professional merit. The award is based on the recommendation of the faculty of architecture and the decision of the Program Director.
This annual competition studio, sponsored by the firm of John Portman and Associates, focuses upon issues of international practice and design. The award is determined by an invited jury of nationally prominent architects and critics and architectural educators.Students in the M.Arch.I and M.Arch. II programs are eligible.
This cash award is given annually in recognition of the most outstanding design studio performance in the Core Design III studio, spring semester.
This nationally administered fellowship program recognizes academic achievement by students in professional programs in architecture. Each year, the Architecture Program nominates one or two of its highest achieving M.Arch. I students for consideration for this cash award.
This travel-study fellowship is sponsored by the firm of TVS Architects and is awarded each year to an M.Arch. I student based upon academic performance and a written research proposal. This fellowship supports one semester of study in residence at the Daniel Center in Genoa, Italy.
The Henry Adams medal awarded annually by the American Institute of Architects to the graduating student from the M.Arch.I Program who has achieved the highest cumulative grade point average throughout the duration of the professional program. The graduating student with the second highest grade point average is awarded the AIA Henry Adams Certificate.
The Stanley Love-Stanley Scholarship is awarded annually to the graduate student of African descent showing the most overall improvement and showing exceptional promise. The award includes a cash prize and an internship with the Atlanta-based architecture firm of Stanley Love-Stanley.
