Urban Design

Atlanta, a rapidly expanding metropolis of four million, is a metropolitan laboratory for studying urban design. The College of Architecture resides in the geographic and intellectual center of the City and the region and provides an interdisciplinary platform to debate the present and envision the future of Atlanta and contemporary cities across the globe. Studios, the focus of urban design in the Architecture Program, may be practice-oriented, research-based, or theoretical and speculative, but are always supported by a diverse selection of seminars and on-going faculty research in the Architecture Program, City and Regional Planning Program, and the Center for Quality Growth and Regional Development.
