The Architecture Program faculty, along with faculty from the associated programs of Building Construction, City Planning, Doctoral Studies, and Industrial Design, supports a wide array of topical interests which may be grouped within five general fields of concentration:
Students may formulate courses of study that focus their elective choices within these fields of concentration. In addition, these fields provide the framework for the areas of study of the Master of Science Program and generally correspond to the areas of research represented within the Doctoral Program.
Students in the M.Arch I program are asked to develop an area of concentration as part of their graduate studies in architecture. In general, an area of concentration entails linking three courses (9 of 21 required elective credits) offered at Georgia Tech, within or outside of the College of Architecture. Each student is asked to develop his or her area of concentration during the fall semester of the 2nd year of the M.Arch I, 3+ year program, and the 1st year of the M.Arch I, 2 year program.
