We prefer a student who is available 40hrs/week and we are paying $16-$18/hour, pending student year.

Program Overview 10-12 Week Paid Internship

Building Information Modeling (BIM) is a very significant development in the architectural design and contracting of new construction and remodeling projects. Advances in 3D CAD software by companies such as AutoDesk, GraphiSoft, and Bentley Systems are bringing tremendous advances to the architectural profession. As with any new technology, there are adoption and growing pains. Users of the 3D software are struggling to find accurate representations of all of the components of a building. Additionally, they are struggling to manage the objects that they download from the internet, create internally, or source from other areas. Reed Construction Data acquired Tectonic Partners Inc on February 1, 2008 positioning them as a leader in the BIM marketplace.

The Reed Construction Data BIM Internship program will provide architectural students with the opportunity to:

• Engage with Building Product Manufacturers to design their object creation program
• Leverage Revit skills to build objects and assemblies for customers and inclusion in RCD's Library Manager
• Design sample solutions to showcase RCD capabilities to prospective clients
• Meet with Architectural users to review on-going beta program feedback
• Work with product management staff to define and prioritize future product enhancements
• Create business case and revenue models to define 3 year strategy
• Launch enhanced quantity survey and cost solutions for the architectural market

Skills Desired

• Completion of at least 1 year of Architectural School maintaining a 3.0GPA or greater. (on a 4.0 scale)
• Exposure to knowledge of AutoDesk Revit design tools to create 3D objects and buildings
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Effective communication skills to communicate with other RCD employees and customers
• Results oriented and outcome driven individual
