Project Manager/Owner's Representative
Job Description Full-time Staff position, reporting to the Director
- Guides and oversees planning and coordination of architectural and engineering components of the project.
- Assures that all criteria are accomplished within schedule and funding parameters and with desired design quality, consistency, and the criteria established by the Museum.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Obtains all necessary professional services and manages selected teams.
- Works with Museum team on project programming.
- Works with Museum team to support Design and Construction goals.
- Assists in developing and reviewing Consultant and Construction Contracts with Museum’s attorney – and with the various parties to the contacts for final execution.
- Assists in the review of project for conformance with Museum requirements through design and construction.
- Work to develop and monitor the various consultant agreements relative to work requirements, production and deliverables, including full building commissioning and sustainable, integrated design.
- Lead and monitor status of permit applications, site preparation and related plan reviews
- Assist in monitoring project design and construction budget, assuring conformance with available funds.
- Help to establish and review value engineering process and potential change orders (as needed) with project team, throughout design and construction.
- Assist in establishing project closeout procedures, documentation, and training of users.
- Assists Design Services team to develop code interpretations.
Requirements and Qualifications:
- Professional degree in Architecture or engineering.
- Minimum of 5 years experience working with architects and owners on projects of a similar scope, complexity and quality.
- Well versed in computer applications including excel, project management software and some working knowledge of AutoCad.
- Must have strong analytical skills, excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills.
- Must have the ability to follow oral and written directions, function efficiently under pressure, and adhere to strict deadlines.
- Must be a strong team leader to manage the process from design through construction and closeout.
- Must possess strong organizational skills with emphasis on detail.
- Familiarity with US Green Building Council’s LEED initiatives, full building commissioning and sustainable design approaches is a strong plus.
- Familiarity with building codes and other applicable design and construction regulatory criteria.
- Must possess political sensitivity and have experience in such an environment.
- Must have extremely high professional and ethical standards.
