Diversity

collage of students The College of Architecture provides a diverse forum for learning, exploring, and studying. From a variety of courses, study abroad programs and different research centers, to a diverse student and faculty body, the College of Architecture offers a well-rounded learning experience.

Curriculum

The curriculum in the College of Architecture focuses on several different areas. Undergraduate students can study architecture, building construction, and industrial design. To help students understand the three undergraduate majors and how they fit together, each new undergraduate student enrolls in Common First Year classes. Graduate students explore a variety of areas and topics including architecture, city planning, and integrated facility management, as well as different Ph.D. study areas. The College is also home to the Georgia Tech Music Department, which offers a selection of courses and extracurricular activities in which students can get involved.

Students

A walk through the College's halls shows off the diversity of students here. Men and women of different ethnicities and backgrounds come from across the United States and around the world and join together to study and learn. The College educates both traditional and older non-traditional students. A well-rounded university experience is important; so many students are involved in other activities including music and band groups, different campus associations, and a variety of religious organizations.

Faculty and Research

The faculty of the College, much like the student body, reflects the diversity of ideas and research being conducted. Each professor has a specialty area that he or she can share with students, while conducting research to expand the current knowledge on that subject. The College also has five research centers that explore a variety of different subjects. The research centers include the following: the Center for Assistive Technology and Environmental Access, the Advanced Wood Products Laboratory, the Construction Resource Center, the Center for Geographic Information Systems, and the Interactive Media Group.
