Introductory Programming & Operation for 5-Axis 3-D  Machining

This course is intended for designers, programmers or other individuals who are responsible for the programming of parts on a CNC Router utilizing the NUM MMI user interface with AlphaCAM software.  It is designed specifically to teach the basic information necessary to design and produce programs for a 5-axis CNC machining Center.

 

About This Course

This course is a classroom based, interactive workshop that includes theory, practice and hands-on application.  Attendees will learn about basic G-code commands and how to utilize G-Code within the user interface.  They will also gain a good conceptual understanding of AlphaCAM software and the ability to set up, make and modify 2-D and 3-D drawings.  Exercises focus on drawing, tool definition and surface machining methods.

Prerequisite skills:

This course is intended as an Introduction to the functions and methodology needed to successfully machine components with a 5-axis machine. The user must have attended AWPL 101 or posses at least 6 months of AlphaCAM 3-axis experience.
